Grand Maghandlela is a self-taught South African artist, born in 1960 on a mission station in KwaZulu-Natal.

Raised by his grandmother in Durban, he discovered art early—encouraged by her simple gift of supplies that sparked a lifelong passion.

His vivid work captures township life, rural scenes, and urban South Africa, drawn from personal experience. Grand’s art has been exhibited across South Africa and internationally, including in the U.S., Scotland, and Germany.

Now, proceeds from his prints and merchandise are helping fund an art school, where he’ll pass on his skills to under-resourced South African youth.
