In Kliptown Soweto, Grand Maghandlela brings to life one of the oldest districts in Soweto—bustling with energy, history, and community pride. Brightly painted façades of local businesses—like Masingita Hair Salon and Thandabantu General Dealer—line the street as residents go about their day beneath blooming trees and wide township skies.
Kliptown is historically significant as the site where the Freedom Charter was adopted in 1955, a foundational document in South Africa’s journey toward democracy. Maghandlela’s scene focuses not on the past, but the present: people walking, talking, buying, and living—vibrant expressions of a community shaped by history but rooted in everyday life.
Printed on Innova Décor Watercolour Art 245gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, each print is produced in the UK to museum-quality standards.
Every purchase directly supports Grand Maghadelda’s mission to fund an art school in South Africa, empowering the next generation of young artists.
