In Mandela / Union Buildings, Grand Maghandlela captures a powerful national symbol: the towering statue of Nelson Mandela standing with outstretched arms in front of the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Framed by vivid gardens and warm South African light, this artwork honours the site where Mandela was inaugurated as the country’s first democratically elected president in 1994—a moment that marked the birth of a new South Africa.
The bronze statue, unveiled in 2013 shortly after Mandela’s passing, stands 9 metres tall and faces the people with a gesture of unity, reconciliation, and welcome.
Printed on Innova Décor Watercolour Art 245gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, each print is produced in the UK to museum-quality standards.
Every purchase directly supports Grand Maghadelda’s mission to fund an art school in South Africa, empowering the next generation of young artists.
