Vibrant and iconic, Soweto Twin Towers celebrates one of South Africa’s most recognisable urban landmarks. Once part of the Orlando Power Station, these two cooling towers have been transformed into monumental canvases—celebrating township life, resistance heroes, and the cultural heartbeat of Soweto. In Grand Maghandlela’s richly detailed tribute, the towers stand tall over a kaleidoscope of community life, painted with pride and bold colour.
History: Built in the 1950s, the Orlando Towers were decommissioned in 1998 and repurposed as public art in the 2000s. They now serve as both a visual symbol of Soweto and a site for bungee jumping and urban tourism.
Printed on Innova Décor Watercolour Art 245gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, each print is produced in the UK to museum-quality standards.
Every purchase directly supports Grand Maghadelda’s mission to fund an art school in South Africa, empowering the next generation of young artists.
